Dress Code

A few dress code reminders are below.  We rely on families doing their best to adhere to the dress code.  The dress code teaches us all about obedience, modesty, and most important helps to create a positive work and play environment for everyone!  Please do not rely on a teacher to contact you regarding a dress code compliance issue.  If you are financially unable to provide the required dress code clothing, please email Mrs. Placek directly for assistance.  You can access the dress code anytime on the website – Parent Information -> Dress Code… Or save this link:  Dress Code | St Patrick’s Catholic School (stpatricklincolnschool.com)

We know you work very hard to help your child to be compliant. Thank you for your efforts!  If you have questions, let us know.

  • Skirts and shorts are to be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee.  Essentially, all shorts, skirts and jumpers should be knee length.
  • Starting in Jr. High – skirts may be purchased from the Pius Dennis Uniform skirts and can be khaki, navy, or plaid
  • No make-up/ fingernail polish
  • All students grades 3-8 should wear a belt unless other arrangements have been made
  • All students should come to school with a mask (and a few extras in their backpack if possible) during the duration of the mandate.
  • Cold-weather reminders
    • No shorts starting Oct. 18 – leggings must be worn under skirts and dresses
    • Coats and outdoor jackets will be hung up upon arrival and only worn outdoors.  If your child is chilly in school – they may wear a cardigan sweater, sweatshirt, or fleece in navy, green, or neutral colors, without a hood.
  • The used uniforms will be available in the gym hallway the weekend of October 2nd/3rd during mass times, and in the school atrium during conferences.

Family Time Challenge

We are excited to roll out our Family Time Challenge!  It’s hard to find room for quality family time.  In hopes of helping you be more intentional, we are challenging you with some ideas.  And on top of that, we would like to give prizes for the challenge as a little added bonus.  If you would like to join us, read on!

Every week in The Shamrock Scoop we will include an activity for your family to do at home.  We encourage you to take a look and try out the activity.  If you are officially joining our challenge, your whole family should participate in the activity in one way or another (if possible).  We will send home one log sheet per family each semester for you to mark your weekly progress.  At the end of the semester, return the log sheet to school for a chance at prizes.  Some examples of activities include math games, reading activities and prayer.

Log sheets will be sent home Friday Sept. 24th. If your family completes the challenge (participating at least 10 weeks out of the twelve), each of your St. Patrick’s children will receive a small prize.  Plus, all completed entries will be included in a drawing for a big prize.

Questions may be directed to Miss Pecha at Katie-Pecha@cdolinc.net.  We look forward to you joining us!

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 27TH CHALLENGE

Declare a Friendly Game of War Do you have a deck or two of cards at home? Take out the face cards, unless your child is ready for such a challenge. (Uno or any cards with numbers also work.) Play at your child’s level of War. (See the link below for how to play “War”.) Younger children, put down one card each time and decide which number is “greater”. Elementary children, put out two cards each, add them together, and determine the greater number. Older kids, do the same, but with multiplication. For more info, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhDovyxyPnE

Fall Conferences

Parent / Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 5th and Thursday Oct. 7th.  All families are asked to sign up for a time to meet with the homeroom teacher.  If you do not sign up for a time, one will be scheduled for you.  We typically have 100% participation.  It is a great experience – the teachers truly look forward to meeting with you!
Parent / Teacher Conferences are also the week of the Book Fair.  Look for an email next week with details and asking for a few volunteers to help everything run smoothly.
We will also have used uniforms available at no charge in the atrium during conferences.

Altar Server Training

Altar Server Training will be held Saturday, October 2 at 9:00 a.m. for all young men in our parish in grades 4 and above. This training will be presented by Father Schweiger and is for both young men wanting to become servers and those who would like additional training or a refresher.  This is a wonderful way to serve God and St. Patrick Church.

St. Patrick School Family of the Day

September 28th – Copeland Family
September 29th – Davison Family
September 30th – Delgado Martinez Family
October 1st         – Diaz Family

QPR Training

Tuesday, Sept. 28 @ 6:30pm – Pius X High School

In honor of suicide prevention month, Pius X has teamed up with Region V to host a community QPR training. QPR is an innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. This program will train people to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone for help. As adults working every day with children and adolescents, it’s critical to realize the rate of suicide among those aged 10-24 increased nearly 60% between 2007 and 2018 (Center for Disease Control and Prevention). QPR training will help empower you to respond to a student or anyone in a time of crisis. Please strongly consider joining us for this event.
