Fr. Schweiger is a graduate of Pius X High School in Lincoln. He attended minor (college) seminary at
St. Philip Neri Seminary in Toronto, Canada and major (theology) seminary at St. Joseph Seminary in Younkers, New York. He was ordained a priest on May 27, 1995 by Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz for the Diocese of Lincoln. He has served as Parochial Vicar at St. John in Lincoln and St. Cecilia in Hastings. He was the pastor of St. Mary in Dawson and St. Anne in Shubert from 1998-2002, St. Joseph in Colon and St. Mary in Cedar Bluffs from 2002-2005 and St. James in Mead from 2005-2007. In addition, he has taught at many of the Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Lincoln and served as the Guidance Counselor at Sacred Heart School in Falls City from 1998-2002, Principal at Bishop Neumann Jr/Sr High School from 2002-2007 and Superintendent of the Hastings Catholic Schools from 2007-2011. He has been blessed to serve as Pastor at St. Patrick’s from June of 2011. Some of his hobbies include woodworking, hiking and reading good science fiction novels.
