Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week (Jan. 26-31) is a highly anticipated week of prayer, fun, community, and celebration of our Catholic School!  Please feel free to join us where you can.
Each day students and staff have the option to participate in dress up days.  Almost everyone participates – some a little, others go all out – of course students can always wear their uniform each day if they choose.

St. Patrick School and Parish Dance and Community Night

In today’s fast-paced world, where we often find ourselves separated by work, schedules, and digital distractions, it is more important than ever to create spaces where we can come together and celebrate the spirit of community!

This year, to conclude Catholic Schools Week, we are taking a break from the soup fundraiser and bringing back the beloved St. Patrick Dance!  The soup fundraiser started out as a way for an, at that time, smaller St. Patrick School community to get together to celebrate the end of Catholic Schools Week, enjoy time spent with school and parish families, and raise funds for classroom needs and textbooks.  As our school family population has  increased, it just isn’t’ feasible for our teachers to produce the amount of soup needed to keep up with the demand – what a problem to have!  The transition to the dance comes with a hope that we can provide an opportunity to join together as a St. Patrick School and Parish Community, celebrate the end of Catholic Schools Week, have fun, and still raise funds for our classrooms and textbook needs.

The St. Patrick Home and School invites all school and parish families to our upcoming St. Patrick School and Parish Community Night. Whether you’re looking to dance the night away in the gym, enjoy some friendly competition in the game room, or simply spend quality time with family and friends, this is an event you won’t want to miss.  The St. Patrick School and Parish Community Night is more than just an event; it’s a revival of the sense of belonging that so many of us crave.

So join us for a chance to reconnect, have fun, and create lasting St. Patrick memories  on Friday January 31st from 6:30-8:30.  Enter through the Gym Entrance – $5/ person $25/family cap.  Food, concessions, photobooth, raffle, and glow accessories will be available for additional purchase.  The gameroom will provide card and board games, and cornhole!

We believe the best memories are made when we come together and enjoy life’s simple pleasures! Let’s make memories together at St. Patrick’s!

Cold Weather / School Closings

Students may go outside when the feels like temperature is 15 degrees or higher. Please send your student dressed for the coldest part of the school day.  Warm coats, hats, and gloves are encouraged for all students throughout the winter months.  Students can always opt to remove items if it gets too warm.  Please do not send snow boots or snow pants with your child.  All school entrance/exit paths and play areas will be cleared of snow and no snow gear will be required.

St. Patrick school typically adheres to the school closing policies of the Lincoln Public Schools, BUT the Diocesan Education Office may elect to keep schools open, even if LPS chooses to close. The decision to close schools due to inclement weather is normally made before 6:00 a.m., at which time the local radio and television stations are notified. School closing information will be shared via email, text to those who opt in, and may be heard on local television channels 8 and 10/11 and AM radio stations KFOR (1240), KLIN (1400), and KLMS (1480).

School Messenger is a communication tool we use throughout the school year for announcements: snow days, etc. You are asked to opt into this system by texting YES to: 67587

Fundraisers

SCRIP

What is Scrip? “Scrip” turns everyday shopping into cash for the St. Patrick Church and School. Purchase gift cards at face value in advance to use at checkout, instead of paying with credit, debit card, check or cash.

How Does It Work? Purchase gift cards at face value from local merchants who designate their own discount percentage ranging from 1.5% to 30%. The discount amount translates to profit for the St. Patrick!

  • $50 Marcus Theatres gift card at 8% = $4 St. Patrick profit
  • $100 Walmart gift card at 2.% = $2.50 St. Patrick profit

Purchase SCRIP before shopping by filling out this form and turning it into the parish office or call in your order to the rectory at 402.466.2752 and we can prepare your order ahead for you. SCRIP can  also be purchased at the parish office or after weekend masses.

We’re excited to share that our school is participating in Cash for Classrooms, part of Casey’s Rewards. This opens up St. Patrick School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students.
The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you buy from Casey’s and use their rewards program you can simply turn your points into a donation to our school.
Help St. Patrick School make the most of this program and learn more at Caseys.com/schools.
