Teacher Christmas Bonus
At St. Patrick School, we have a long-standing tradition of gifting the teachers with a Christmas ‘bonus’ made up from donations from school and parish families.
Donations to the Teacher Christmas Collection will be collected beginning at the Christmas Program on Thursday Dec. 5th. and at masses through the next 2 weekends.
- Monetary donations can brought to school in an enveloped marked ‘Teacher Collection’ or you can Venmo your donation to @StPatrick-Lincoln with a comment of ‘Teacher Collection’.
- A 2nd collection will taken up after masses December 7/8 and 14/15
While our teachers can never be thanked enough for their endless commitment and sacrifices they make for our school family, this Christmas Collection is one way to say ‘thanks’.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.”Matthew 6:2
Feast of Saint Nicholas
The spirit of St. Nicholas makes a visit to St. Patrick school each Dec. 6th and leaves a treat in student shoes in honor of St. Nicholas’ Feast Day.
Students may wear comfy clothes & fun socks this day as they will be removing their shoes during their morning class.
- All comfy clothes are allowed – please no shorts or bare shoulders!
(Christmas / Religious socks are encouraged – but not mandatory 🙂
NO SCHOOL – Monday December 9
This recent change came as a response to a question posed by the USCCB to the Holy See earlier this year as to how to observe the feast day (Dec. 8th) falling on a Sunday.
For all catholic schools within the City of Lincoln, there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday December 9th.
Little Shopper’s Shop
As we approach the holiday season, St. Patrick students will have an opportunity to learn the delight of giving to family and friends in a unique way. The week of December 10-13, we will be holding a holiday shop for students during the school day—there will be a variety of gift options available for students to purchase to take home to give to their loved ones this Christmas. Many gifts will cost less than $5, and students will have the opportunity to experience the entire process of gift-giving from planning and budgeting through purchasing and giving.
Your student will be sent home with a flyer with more information and a budgeting envelope you can use to help them plan their giving—the available gifts can be previewed on the website indicated below. Holiday shop participation is entirely optional. If your student would like to participate, you may send money with them in their budgeting envelope on December 10. There is also an option on the website to pre-purchase a gift certificate students can shop with in place of cash.

Dine Out Night
Help support our December Dine Out Night December 12th at Wings and Rings on 69th & O (Meridian Park) from 5-8 pm.
With God…We Love Our Neighbors
God commands us to love our neighbors. Think of everyone you meet as your neighbor! The kids in your class, your teammates, and coaches—the kids in other classes and players on the other team, people you see at the grocery store—everyone is your neighbor.
When you are feeling sad, it helps if a friend or family member hangs out with you, doesn’t it? So start noticing how the people around you are doing. Share a smile with them. Ask, “How are you doing today?” Give them a compliment. You don’t have to do big things to be a good neighbor. It’s the little things that really count. God’s love in your heart will help you be a good neighbor.
Jesus, sometimes it is tempting to ignore people. Help me to be a good neighbor and to love everyone around me.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind… Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Luke 10:27
(Each week we focus on a reason why WITH GOD nothing shall be impossible!)

Fundraisers
SCRIP
What is Scrip? “Scrip” turns everyday shopping into cash for the St. Patrick Church and School. Purchase gift cards at face value in advance to use at checkout, instead of paying with credit, debit card, check or cash.
How Does It Work? Purchase gift cards at face value from local merchants who designate their own discount percentage ranging from 1.5% to 30%. The discount amount translates to profit for the St. Patrick!
- $50 Marcus Theatres gift card at 8% = $4 St. Patrick profit
- $100 Walmart gift card at 2.% = $2.50 St. Patrick profit
Purchase SCRIP before shopping by filling out this form and turning it into the parish office or call in your order to the rectory at 402.466.2752 and we can prepare your order ahead for you. SCRIP can also be purchased at the parish office or after weekend masses.
We’re excited to share that our school is participating in Cash for Classrooms, part of Casey’s Rewards. This opens up St. Patrick School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students.
The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you buy from Casey’s and use their rewards program you can simply turn your points into a donation to our school.
Help St. Patrick School make the most of this program and learn more at Caseys.com/schools.
