We need lots of ‘trunks’ and helpers to make this night a success!
All School Rosary
All school parents and parishioners are invited to join the St. Patrick Staff and Students for an October all-school rosary. We will be joining our prayers along with bio-degradable helium balloons to form a rosary – at the conclusion we will send our rosary towards heaven as a symbol of our prayers being lifted to God! The rosary will begin at 2:30 on Thursday Oct. 14th in the school parking lot. Visitors may line the perimeter of the parking lot on the sidewalks in front of the church and playground. We hope to see you there! (in case of inclement weather we will pray in the gym – you are welcome to join – masks required for all indoor guests)
Oct. 18th Family Time Challenge
Salute
Salute (Secret Subtraction and Division) Use any kind of cards with numbers on them. There are three players in this game: The Captain and two competitors. The Captain gives a card to each player. The players may not look at their own card, but hold it up to their forehead so their opponent can see the card. The Captain adds (or multiplies, if students are older) the two numbers together and announces the sum (or product). The two opponents race to say the missing number, the number on their own card. Whoever says it first gets to keep both cards. Kids love this game! If they don’t, try a version that is easier for them, such as using only cards with numbers 1-5. (This is one way to play it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ge7C3CdD48A OR here is a more challenging version: https://vimeo.com/54917865)
Diaper Drive
October is Pro-Life Month! To help support all the women who have chosen life, the St. Patrick Altar Society along with the Lincoln Diocesan Council of Catholic Women are hosting a Diaper Drive. All size diaper will be accepted, however sizes 5 and 6 are in most need.
The St. Patrick Catholic School and the St. Patrick CCD classes have decided to challenge each other to see who can bring in the most diapers to donate to this worthy cause. Diapers will be collected starting Wednesday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 27. Since the CCD classes are smaller than the school classes, the winner will be determined by doing a percentage based on the number of students in each class. The winning class will receive an ice cream party!
Let’s show our support for this worthy cause and have fun with this lighthearted rivalry! No matter what grade wins, the true winners are the babies and toddlers in need of diapers!
Spirit Day – Pep Rally
All students are welcome to dress in Spirit Day attire for our Fall Pep Rally on Monday Oct. 25th. Spirit Day attire is uniform bottoms with a St. Patrick Tshirt or any green/shamrock theme top. Go Shamrocks!
Food Market
Catholic Social Services (CSS) has partnered with the Food Bank of Lincoln to provide healthy choice options for our school families at no cost!
The CSS Food Market Truck will be open Tuesday October 19th from 3:00-3:45 and located in the church parking lot. They will have frozen meat along with other options for families.
Snow Removal
We are in need of volunteers for snow clearing. We need workers to clear the sidewalks around the church, school, gym and rectory; the parking lots are done by a snow removal crew. If you are interested please consider signing the snow crew roster with name, phone number and e-mail address. The sign-up sheet is in the back of the church. Additionally, you may contact: Terry Ryan, 402-326-6871 (voice mail or text) or email: Trranch1@hotmail.com. Additional information will go out to all interested volunteers in early November.
St. Patrick School Family of the Day
Beginning in September, we will be praying for a St. Patrick School Family each day. The School Family of the Day will be listed on our Lunch + Events Calendar. As a school we will pray for the School Family of the Day after mass, and we ask your family at home to include the St. Patrick School Family of the Day in your family prayer. If you don’t already pray as a family – this is a simple way to get started.

- October 19th – Graham Family
- October 20th – Hamilton Family
- October 21st – Hanks Family
- October 22nd – Hartmann Family
