School Dress Code Reminders

Thank you for your attention to the dress code. Below are some reminders – you will receive individual reminders of the dress code as needed.  I spoke with the students after mass this morning about how we can love others by following the dress code.  The dress code promotes a sense of equality in the classroom, despite different factors that may influence them in everyday life outside the school.  Not all things can be fair or equal, but the dress code is one way we can create a level of comfortability in how we present ourselves.  Click image above to enlarge – or view full dress code here:  Dress Code | St Patrick’s Catholic School (stpatricklincolnschool.com)

  • Socks should be black/white/gray only
  • NO nail polish / fake nails (please remove any polish or fake nails by Monday Aug. 21)
  • Hair should be natural in color (please remove or cover any non-natural dyes by Monday Aug. 21)
  • Students 3rd-8th should wear a belt with shorts/pants
  • Fleece jackets should be black and sweatshirts should be gray, green, or navy.  St. Patrick logo is optional.

Holy Moments

Each family will receive 2 Holy Moments books to read and share with friends and family.  Jr. High students will keep 1 copy at home as a part of their Holy Moments integration into religion class.  Please look for these books to go home with your oldest child.  Keep reading to find out this week’s Holy Moment prompt to help your family make Holy Moments intentional!

Tips to create this Holy Moment:
– Send a thoughtful text, make a quick phone call, or set up a video chat!
– Leave a sticky note on your child’s backpack, expressing what they mean to you.
– Reach out to thank a teacher who helped you in the past.

We want to hear about the amazing ways you and your family are collaborating with God! Email: Kristine-Placek@cdolinc.net and share about a special Holy Moment you witnessed or created. Let’s keep the Holy Momentum going!

Office Medications

When you registered your child on PowerSchool you may have indicated that you gave permission for the office to issue over the counter medication to your child.  Parents who have made this indication will be notified via email if their child was in need of, and given, over the counter medication during the school day (pain relief, antacid, etc) will be.  Please check, and update PowerSchool if you DO NOT want us to give over the counter meds without a phone call each time.

Many teachers have updated their classroom wish lists!  Purchasing an item from the wish list is a great way to say THANK YOU!

Fundraisers

SCRIP

What is Scrip? “Scrip” turns everyday shopping into cash for the St. Patrick Church and School. Purchase gift cards at face value in advance to use at checkout, instead of paying with credit, debit card, check or cash.

How Does It Work? Purchase gift cards at face value from local merchants who designate their own discount percentage ranging from 1.5% to 30%. The discount amount translates to profit for the St. Patrick!

  • $50 Marcus Theatres gift card at 8% = $4 St. Patrick profit
  • $100 Walmart gift card at 2.% = $2.50 St. Patrick profit

Click here for the SCRIP order form.  SCRIP can be purchased at the parish office or after weekend masses.

We’re excited to share that our school is participating in Cash for Classrooms, part of Casey’s Rewards. This opens up St. Patrick School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students.
The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you buy from Casey’s and use their rewards program you can simply turn your points into a donation to our school.
Help St. Patrick School make the most of this program and learn more at Caseys.com/schools.
