The St. Patrick Knights of Columbus are hosting a Veteran’s Day Assembly Friday Nov. 10th for St. Patrick Staff, Students, Veterans and Families. All are welcome.
If you plan to attend, please join us at mass at 8 a.m., the program and doughnut reception will follow, concluding by 10 a.m.

We are asking staff, students, and visitors to wear a patriotic (or any red/white/blue shirt of their choice) with jeans or uniform bottoms.  God bless America!

Dine Out – DaVinci’s

Join us at the November Dine out night on Tuesday, November 14th from 5-9 pm at Davinci’s on 27th & Superior. This includes ALL Dine-in and Carry-out orders. We do NOT have to mention St. Patrick’s HSA, it will be all sales during that time frame. The HSA will receive 20% of all sales!

St. Patrick Food Drive

Silly Stockings for St. Nicholas

The spirit of St. Nicholas makes a visit to St. Patrick school each Dec. 6th and leaves a treat in student shoes in honor of St. Nicholas’ Feast Day.

Students may wear ‘silly stockings’ this day as they will be removing their shoes during their morning class.  Christmas / Religious socks are encouraged – but not mandatory 🙂

Cold Weather / School Closings

Students may go outside when the ‘feels like’ temperature is 15 degrees or higher. Please send your student dressed for the coldest part of the school day.  Warm coats, hats, and gloves are encouraged for all students throughout the winter months.  Students can always opt to remove items if it gets too warm.  Please do not send snow boots or snow pants with your child.  All school entrance/exit paths and play areas will be cleared of snow and no snow gear will be required.

St. Patrick school typically adheres to the school closing policies of the Lincoln Public Schools, BUT the Diocesan Education Office may elect to keep schools open, even if LPS chooses to close. The decision to close schools due to inclement weather is normally made before 6:00 a.m., at which time the local radio and television stations are notified. School closing information will be shared via email, text to those who opt in, and may be heard on local television channels 8 and 10/11 and AM radio stations KFOR (1240), KLIN (1400), and KLMS (1480).

School Messenger is a communication tool we use throughout the school year for announcements: snow days, etc. You are asked to opt into this system by texting YES to: 67587

Health Policy

It is cold and flu season!  Please read our health policy below, and as always, please consult with your healthcare provider regarding medical decisions (such as school exclusion) for your child..

St. Patrick Health Policy

Health Exclusion

Students are to be excluded from school if they have a cough that can’t be subdued with cough suppressants, a fever (100.4 or higher), or any orally communicable condition such as vomiting, diarrhea, ringworm, pink eye, etc. If a child becomes ill with an uncontrollable cough, fever, vomiting, or diarrhea while in the care of the school or extended care program, parents or emergency contacts will be called to come and pick up the child.  Children must be symptom free for 24 hours from before returning to school.   As with anytime your child is not going to be at school, we ask that you call and notify us before 9:00am if they are ill.

Illness Exposure

If your child was in contact with someone with the symptoms above or any viral infection such as flu or covid, we ask that:
*Exposed students who remain symptom free may continue to attend in-person school as long as they remain symptom free
*Exposed students who develop symptoms, will be asked remain at home until they are symptom free

Fall 2024 PreSchool / Kindergarten

It is early – but we have started to get calls for families to enroll their children in PreSchool and Kindergarten for Fall 2024.  We have limited spots and want to ensure that all current St. Patrick Families are able to enroll.

If you have a child that you plan to enroll in PreSchool or Kindergarten for Fall 2024 – will you let the office know and we can add them to the list?  Even if you aren’t sure – we would rather have them on the list and NOT come, then end up not having a spot for them if needed!

Holy Moments

Do the right thing regardless of what others might think.
The greatest moments of history happened when people did the right thing, even in the face of great opposition. Now, it’s your turn! If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few ideas: pay attention in class when other students aren’t focused, change the subject when someone starts to gossip, and unfollow popular social media pages that promote unholy moments.
Remember, some moments are holy. Some moments are unholy. And you decide!

Tips to Create This Holy Moment:
– Unfollow any pages or people on social media who stand for unholy moments.
– Focus during class, work, or Mass, even if other people aren’t.
– Choose not to gossip and speak kindly about others instead.

Fundraisers

SCRIP

What is Scrip? “Scrip” turns everyday shopping into cash for the St. Patrick Church and School. Purchase gift cards at face value in advance to use at checkout, instead of paying with credit, debit card, check or cash.

How Does It Work? Purchase gift cards at face value from local merchants who designate their own discount percentage ranging from 1.5% to 30%. The discount amount translates to profit for the St. Patrick!

  • $50 Marcus Theatres gift card at 8% = $4 St. Patrick profit
  • $100 Walmart gift card at 2.% = $2.50 St. Patrick profit

Purchase SCRIP before shopping by filling out this form and turning it into the parish office or call in your order to the rectory at 402.466.2752 and we can prepare your order ahead for you. SCRIP can  also be purchased at the parish office or after weekend masses.

We’re excited to share that our school is participating in Cash for Classrooms, part of Casey’s Rewards. This opens up St. Patrick School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students.
The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you buy from Casey’s and use their rewards program you can simply turn your points into a donation to our school.
Help St. Patrick School make the most of this program and learn more at Caseys.com/schools.
